After investigations, no reason has been found to close the school.

The Imatra city government discussed the indoor air situation at Linnala school on Monday.

Based on the reports received by the health nurse this fall, 335 out of a total of 40 students and staff members at Linnala school have experienced symptoms from the school's indoor air.

At the city council meeting building health specialist, RTA, Olli Inkinen About Raklamit Oy, he explained the repairs made in the property in the summer and the investigations made after the repairs.

According to the tightness studies, the changes made have clearly improved the school's indoor air. On the second floor, problems have been detected regarding air leaks and floor materials, which will be repaired. According to the indoor air working group, school work can be continued.

In the technical investigations of the school's premises, no factors have been found so far that would support the closure of the entire school, the mayor Kai Roslakka says.

An event will be organized for parents on Wednesday evening of this week at Linnala school, where the research results after the repairs will be presented. At the same event, experts also answer the detailed questions that the parent committee has sent to the city council.

The city government states in its statement that every child with indoor air symptoms will be given the opportunity to transfer to another school in the city without delay.

The transfer must be requested by the guardian. A medical certificate is required as an attachment to the application. The school will inform about transfer applications in more detail through Wilma within a couple of days.
