There are more starting students than a year ago.

According to the joint selection proposal received, all 120 starting places in Imatra's joint high school will be filled. There were a total of 111 primary applicants, of which 104 are presented for selection. In addition to them, 16 starting students are presented for selection from the 2nd or 3rd place of the application.

The lowest average to get in is 7,15. Six who exceed the average limit of 7,00 set for joint selection remain unselected and they are in reserve for possible cancellations.

 - There are more starting students than a year ago. Even the number of primary applicants for the joint selection was surprising, because the number of students who finished basic education in both Imatra and Ruokolahti this year was clearly lower than a year ago, says the high school principal Mika Strömberg.

The 30 starting places of the South Karelia IB high school operating in Imatra and Lappeenranta are also filled. According to preliminary information, 10 of them study in Imatra and 20 in Lappeenranta. In addition to them, a few more students are chosen at discretion.

Nine students are presented for selection to the high school of the Finnish-Russian school in Eastern Finland, which operates in Imatra.

Thus, a total of 129 students study in the five starting basic groups of the national high school. The new school year 2018-2019 starts on August 9.8.2018, XNUMX.

The names of those selected for high school will be published on the website of the joint high school for those students who have given permission for publication on the internet. Names are no longer published on the school wall.
