Suomi Meloo will land on Ukonniemi beach on Friday 15.6 June. at 18 p.m. The last leg from the Suikkala stage is also paddled by the young biathlon skier Venla Lehtonen from Imatra. 

- It was really nice when I was asked to participate, it's an honor to be able to represent Imatra in this way. Fortunately, I'll be in Imatra at the time, so I can join. My training is at its hardest right now and I'm at training camps a lot, says Venla Lehtonen about her participation in the Suomi Meloo event. 

Mikko Airas, the 2nd vice-chairman of the city board, will be receiving the paddlers, among others. All those willing are welcome to receive paddlers at the Ukonniemi beach. 

Suomi Meloo - the event starts on Saturday 9.6 June. From Kuopio on the shore of Kallavesi and from there it goes towards Imatra along the Saimaa River. The route runs through ten canals in the territory of 11 municipalities. You can also admire the scenery in the area of ​​two national parks,

A total of 28 sections are paddled and the total distance is 505 paddling kilometers.

432 people have signed up for the kayaking trip.
