The project initiates the wider development of the area.

Attendo Oy is starting a new construction project in Imatra. The company plans to build an 80-person service center for seniors on Voltkuja, close to the city center.

― This property will have apartments for people who need round-the-clock care as well as apartments for assisted living. Meals, cleaning and home care services are offered to Tukjasumin's customers, Attendo's senior services sales manager Alex Gullichsen says.

The reservation of the plot is treated today as an additional matter in the Imatra city council. Imatra's YH-Rakennuttaja, with whom Attendo cooperates, acts as the reserver of the plot.

YH will start work on the plot immediately, if the city government gives its blessing to handing over the plot.

― We start by clearing the plot and soil surveys. CEO of YH-Rakennuttaja Oy Lassi Nurmi says.

Gullichsen hopes to be able to start building right away in the fall. He hopes that the service building will be ready at the end of 2019.

The construction of the service center also initiates the development of the Fortum and Kupari area.

The city of Imatra and Attendo have signed a deal for a total of nine social security properties. Some of these properties are in poor condition, and Attendo plans to demolish them and replace them with modern facilities.
