Kaisa Heino works as a deputy.

The mayor of Imatra, Rami Hasu, has resigned from his post. He finishes work today.

- The challenge of time management combined with the demanding job of the mayor is the reason for my decision. In my current life situation, I want to give more time to my family, Hasu explains his decision.

Hasu will talk about his future plans later.

There was a negotiation about the resignation on Friday morning with the presidium of the city board.

- This was no longer a surprise to me, because we have talked with Rami about time management issues during the spring. Personally, I understand the mayor's decision, says Anna Helminen, chairwoman of the city board.

The matter will be dealt with as an additional matter on 4.6. in the city board and council 18.6.

- In the coming weeks, we will discuss the continuation of the leadership question between the parties, Helminen states.

As agreed, Hasu will be paid compensation equivalent to six months' salary, which includes the salary for the notice period.

For the time being, the city manager's duties are handled by the acting administrative director Kaisa Heino. During his vacation, CFO Kai Roslakka is responsible for deputizing.
