Information for Virasoja school staff, students, their guardians and the media

In its meeting today, June 27.6.2016, 3, the indoor air working group discussed the results of the structural studies of the current sheltered space property of Virasoja school, Havrinne XNUMX. Based on the results obtained, risks have been identified in the structural studies of the Havrinte property.

Investigations carried out at Havurinte

During the beginning of 3, several indoor air quality measurements were carried out in the premises of Havrinne 2016. In the results of the air samples taken on January 6.1.2016, 11 (from XNUMX premises), no indications of moisture/microbial damage were found. Based on the obtained results and previous user experiences, the facilities could be put into use. With the decision of the indoor air working group, it was decided to monitor the users' experiences regularly.

On March 2.3.2016, XNUMX, VVOC and VOC samples (volatile organic compounds from materials, which can be used to indicate possible factors that deteriorate the indoor air) were taken from the premises of Havrinne. The discovery was of elevated individual concentrations, the occurrence of which was associated with the decommissioned data center. The observed elevated compounds did not indicate moisture and mold damage. The researcher recommended follow-up samples.

Monitoring samples were taken on April 28.4.2016, XNUMX (VVOC and VOC samples). Very small individual concentrations were analyzed in the indoor air of the investigated premises. The change was significant compared to the previous measurement results. The implemented ventilation adjustments had substantially improved the indoor air quality.

On May 24.5.2016, XNUMX, the indoor air working group decided to continue the investigations with the help of structural samples. In the staff's feedback, symptoms related to the premises came to the fore. The guardian of one student had reported suspected symptoms.

Follow-up measures

With the decision of the City Council on June 27.6.2016, XNUMX, more detailed technical reports on the condition of the indoor air will be made for Havrinte.
