The Valoja Vuosella event is on Saturday 10.9.

Hilja Piha, Vuoksen Kalastuspuisto, Neitsytniemen Kartano and Restaurant Sula are the event venues.

Traditional craftsmanship at Hiljan Piha

Imatran's Inkeri opens the tradition day at Hiljan Piha at 10 a.m. There you can get to know and try different traditional craft skills, such as the production of beads or tar and the dyeing of threads. For lunch, you can enjoy Karelian game jerky on top of your chores.

Fishing competitions in the Vuoksi Fishing Park

You can go fishing at the Vuoksi Fishing Park, where there is a fishing competition for children and rowing and trolling for adults, and later in the evening windsurfing. You can participate in the competitions by registering in advance at Kalastuspuisto.

The history of Imatra in Neitsytniemi manor

In addition to guided tours of the manor, there are lectures from Juhani Järvinen's Artists' Year and Imatra's history told by Imatra's tour guides. Heini and Johannes Vesterinen are responsible for old-time manor music.

Daytime lighting at Restaurant Sula

The 250 years celebration of tourism event at Valoja Vuok culminates in the spectacularly illuminated Restaurant Sula. With a reservation in advance, you can enjoy crabs caught in Vuosi, a crab buffet in Sula. DJ Amanda Harkimo is responsible for the music.

The event in Vuos possibly also next year

The purpose of the tourism jubilee year project was to implement events in such a way that they are carried out by several companies in cooperation. The goal has also been for the event to continue for years to come.

- It would be a good idea next year to organize the end of the summer celebrations in cooperation with the entrepreneurs working here in Vuosa, entrepreneur Toni Kainulainen gets excited.

- This date would also fit very well into the event calendar, continues Jussi Honka.

The third event of the jubilee year in Valoja Vuos will be implemented as part of the MOKRA funds of the South Karelia Association "Celebrating 250 years of tourism" project. The project financially supports the realization of the event. The anniversary project is implemented in cooperation with the city of Imatra, South Karelia recreation area foundation and Kulttuuritila Nuijamies.
