Winter area renovation will continue in the April-May phase

In May-June, the 2022 contract will be completed in the Pakkaskatu–Routakatu area. The work will be completed by Destia Oy, which acted as the area's contractor in the summer of 2022.

In the beginning of June, the area renovation will continue with the help of a new contractor on Routkatu, Kirskuja, Huurrekuja and Nietoskuja, where the streets and the water and wastewater network will be renewed.

In addition, the renovation includes the renovation of street lighting and stormwater solutions.

According to the preliminary plan, during the construction site, traffic in the area will be directed through the area of ​​the power line at the end of the alleys

Changes to residents during the construction site, such as water outages and unusual traffic arrangements, will be announced separately.

- In the last week of April, we will mail a letter to the residents of the area about the renovation, traffic engineer Aino Vuopio promise.

As a whole, Vintteri's regional renovation is scheduled to be implemented in the years 2022–2025.

The completion of Pakkaskatu–Routakatu and the renovation of Kirsikuja, Huurrekuja and Nietoskuja will be completed according to plans at the end of 2023

- This year, the section of Pakkaskatu will be asphalted, the other parts will be paved for the coming years, Vuopio says.

Imatra's area of ​​responsibility for urban development works as a client in the investments and maintenance of the city's public areas

- We are responsible for the planning of the renovation and street construction, permit matters, soil studies, terrain measurements and customer tasks during construction, traffic engineer Aino Vuopio says.

The city's subsidiary, Mitra Imatra Rakennuttaja, tenders construction contracts and is responsible for supervision and construction tasks during construction.

The city informs about the start of area renovations and asphalting before the start of the works on its website. In addition, properties in the areas are informed about exceptions during construction related to traffic arrangements and the water and wastewater network.
