Mansikkakoski's old railway bridge will be opened to traffic at the end of September
The Finnish Railways Agency announces that the Luumäki–Imatra railway project includes the renovation works of the old Mansikkakoski railway bridge have progressed as planned.
The bridge's vehicular, pedestrian and cycling routes it is planned to open to traffic at the end of September, when the restoration work on the bridge has been completed.
For safety reasons, the movement of outsiders in the construction area is prohibited, and detour arrangements are in place until the bridge's renovation work is completed.
- The different work phases on the bridge have gone as planned and safety has been taken care of all the time. The painting work of the bridge is starting to be completed and after the side planking of the lower deck of the bridge is completed, we will soon start working on the asphalting of the lower deck, says the project's project manager Joonas Hämäläinen From the Railway Agency.

Luumäki-Imatra railway project
The goal of the Luumäki–Imatra railway project is to develop the service level of the track section by improving relaying ability, operational reliability and management of disruption situations. It aims to improve the operating conditions of freight transport and the service level of passenger transport. The implementation of the project also supports the maintenance and development of the competitiveness of business life, and improves the comfort of the area's residents and other operators by reducing traffic noise and emissions.
