Self-service return for use in local libraries

In Rajapatsa and Vuoksenniska local libraries, self-service returns will be introduced today, Monday. Returning takes place at the same machine as borrowing. The machine first asks the customer to choose whether he wants to borrow or return.

- In the main library, a corresponding loan-return machine was put into use earlier, states the library expert Ari Sareslahti.

Libraries have carts next to the machines where returns are left. Strollers can also be borrowed. If there is a reservation for the work to be returned, the machine prompts to put it in a separate box.

If you wish, you can also leave the returns in the return hatches next to the front door. Then the staff will process them on the next business day. The loans will be visible in the customer's information until then, and a late fee will accrue for overdue loans.
