Self-service library means extended opening hours of the library. Customers have the opportunity to visit the library, pick up their own reservations and borrow material even when the staff is not there.
Self-service is available at all branches of the Imatra city library. The main library's opening hours are 8 a.m. to 20 p.m. every day. You can shop at local libraries any day of the week from 7 a.m. to 21 p.m. The library is therefore also available on weekends and holidays.
Instructions for self-service library users
Visiting the library and borrowing from the lending machine is possible with a library card and the four-digit PIN code attached to it. The reserved material is organized on the pick-up shelf according to the customers' personal reservation numbers. You can see your reservation number in the pick-up notice, which you receive as a text message, email or letter. Computers are also available during self-employment hours. Printing is not possible.
During self-service hours, you can leave your returns in the return hatch or return them yourself at the machine. Please note that the staff will only process returns left in the door during the next service period. Materials left in the return hatch will appear in your loans and accrue a possible late fee until the staff returns them.
When you visit the self-service library, we ask that you consider other customers and familiarize yourself with the safety instructions and the library's rules of use. The right to use the self-help library is personal, and only the guardian can enter together with their children under 15 years of age. The guardian is responsible for the use of the self-help library for children under the age of 15. The right to use can be removed in cases of abuse.
Also make sure that the door locks after you and no other people can enter. A door left open causes an alarm to the security office. Libraries have recording camera surveillance.
