In Finland, a public library is a service open to everyone and mostly free of charge. In libraries you can read books and magazines, listen to music, use a computer, work, study or hang out. You can also borrow books, magazines, music recordings, language courses and other material to take home.
The Imatra city library serves in three locations. Main library operates in the Mansikkala district and is part of Culture house Virtaa. There are two nearby libraries Border statue and In Vuokseniska in neighborhoods.
The city library of Imatra is part of the joint Heili group of libraries in South Karelia. You can do business with a Heili library card in all the libraries in Kimpa.

Heilikirjastot.fi is a joint online library of Heili libraries. There you can find material and contact information for all libraries in South Karelia, reading recommendations, instructions and news about libraries.
You can log in to the online library with your Heili card ID (for example HEILI000000000) and a four-digit PIN code. You can get the code from the library staff. After logging in, you can see your customer information, renew your loan and make reservations for the loaned material. If your address or phone number changes, report the change in the online library or directly to the staff.
Once logged in, you can use the electronic library card. It works the same as a plastic card, the barcode of the card is just read on the screen of your smartphone. You can also add your children's library cards to your own user account. This way you can see and renew their loan with a single login.
