How hard is the water in Imatra?

With Imatra, the water is soft (~4 dH), so there is no need for water softening in washing machines. Dosing instructions on detergent packages should be followed and overdose should be avoided.

Is there water under the water meter screen?

There should be water under the glass of the water meter. We talk about the so-called wet glass water meter.

Does the water meter read correctly?

At the very beginning, it is worth checking whether the meter is also running when no water is used. Continuous rotation is a sign of a water leak. The water utility's water meters are type-approved and accurate. They are subject to the same regulations as store scales or fuel meters at gas stations. The error of water meters is almost always within the permissible limits, which is +/-5% at most.

The water utility can also check the water meter at the customer's written request. If no error is found in the meter or the detected error is smaller than ±5%, the customer will be charged for the inspection costs. The fee is determined per inspection.

The customer should monitor his water consumption and its changes. Even small leaks in water fixtures can cause unpleasant surprises.

How much water does one low-drip faucet use?

A dripping faucet can increase water consumption by up to 30 m³ per year and thus cause the customer an additional fee of approximately 146,70 euros. If there are several leaking faucets, the amount of additional costs can increase to thousands of euros. Water leaks can often be repaired at relatively low costs, for example by changing the seals of faucets or the toilet flushing tank.

The amount of leakage, converted to an annual level, surprises many water bill payers. Below, the water volumes of a few leakage cases are calculated, assuming that the network pressure is 5 kp/cm² (500 kPa).

• Dense drip leakage, the entire thickness of the sewing thread at the leakage point. The amount of water leaking is then 30 m³ per year (approx. 146,70 euros).
• A thin stream of water, the thickness of the entire point of leakage. The amount of water leaking is then 300 m³ per year (approx. 1 euros).
• Continuous leak in the toilet, the entire leak point is the thickness of a match. The amount of water leaking is then 3 m³ per year (approx. 000 euros).
• Old model cold and hot water mixer for the shower, the leak point is the thickness of a pencil. The amount of water leaking is then 30 m³ per year (approx. 000 euros).

If the program is slanderous "according to your reading, the annual consumption is xx amount":

The program should be defamed if the annual consumption estimate has risen or fallen exceptionally. If the water meter reading is correct, you should press the send button as many times as the reading has gone. Usually once is enough.

Why is the basic fee collected?

The basic fee covers part of the facility's operating and capital costs, which are independent of consumption. The basic payment is based on the size of the consumption point's water meter.

How much is a cube?

One cube (1 m³) is one thousand liters.

What is the average consumption of one person?

The average consumption of one person per year is 40m³ - 60m³, or about 3,33m³ per month - 5m³.

What do I need to open an e-invoice?

To open an e-invoice, you need a customer number and a point of consumption number. You can find these numbers on your own water bill.
