Interpretation of the meter

report the remotely readable meter reading to water billing only when the owner or tenant of the apartment or property changes
state all meter numbers for billing: in the example picture 00000560
- the amount to be billed is 0 m3 in the example, because liters are not billed
you can also report the reading with a picture: take a picture of the meter and send it by e-mail to water billingimatra.fi (water billing[at]imatra[dot]fi)

if the flashing text Leak appears on the meter, the water flow has continued in the property for at least 23 hours
in this case, it is good to check that there are no leaks in the water fixtures or piping
a resident of a housing association who does not have his own water meter can often locate a water leak based on the sound: for example, a sound can be heard from a leaking toilet seat

it is worth protecting the water meters and property lines from freezing, especially when you are away for long periods of time
close the taps of the washing machines when they are not in use
don't leave washing machines on when you leave your apartment
check the condition of the drain hoses of washing machines at regular intervals
monitor the activity of risky sites and protect, for example, access routes leading to basements from surface water floods
do not store valuables on the floors of basement rooms
