It is a precautionary measure aimed at limiting the spread of the corona.

As a precautionary measure, the indoor sports facilities of the city of Imatra will be closed today, Tuesday 22.12 from 15:1.1.2021. The premises will remain closed for the rest of the year. According to current information, the last closing date is January XNUMX, XNUMX.

In practice, closing the facilities means that the swimming hall, sports hall and ice rink are not in use for a good week. The gyms in the city of Imatra have been closed since the beginning of December.

In Imatra, the situation regarding the spread of corona is the most critical in the province due to the chains of infection last week. We want to make sure that the situation stays under control now, the head of welfare services Arja Kujala says.

The reason behind the closure decision is that there are large groups of people in sports facilities and it is not always possible to keep enough safety distances in the same way as, for example, in libraries.

Now it's worth making all such solutions that will contribute to the fact that the next semester can be started in face-to-face teaching. Imatra no longer needs new chains of transmission, Kujala emphasizes.

The decision is purely the city's, not South Karelia's social and health district Eksoten. Crownethere are longer ones Southä-In the Karelian region in the acceleration phase. Epidemic three years subject matter t basic level , yes coagulation phase and Leviäwhat phase

In accordance with AVI's instructions mthe maximum number of people at public events is 20 people. In private events, the maximum number of people is 10 people.
