Five classes will go home next week to study.

A member of the staff of Mansikkala's basic education has been diagnosed with corona infection today, Friday. The infected person was last at school a few days ago.

Infectious exposure is possible with classes 3C, 5A, 5B, 5M and 6B. The students of these classes will be transferred to study at home for the next week as a precaution. The decision to study at home was made by the city of Imatra.

Since the school day started today before the news about the infection came out, the students will spend it in classroom teaching until the end. The students get the necessary study material and personal equipment. With these, it is possible to teach at home.

The precautionary measure is to protect the school children's winter holiday week, the head of welfare services Arja Kujala says.

Eksote pointed out on Friday afternoon that an official quarantine is not necessary, but that the exposed students study at home for a week is a sufficient precaution.
