In the next few weeks, border crossers will encounter new operating models at the border stations in Southeast Finland

Eksote and Kymsote work closely with Raja and are aware of the challenges of the spread of the coronavirus related to border crossing.

Two different pilots will be used to compare the effectiveness of operating models at border crossing points in Southeast Finland between January and February. Kymsote conducts coronavirus tests for border crossers in passenger transport at the border, and Eksote contacts people arriving in the country in cooperation with the border authorities. Nationally, it has been hoped that health security at the borders will be enhanced. Safety can be improved in many ways, Eksote is the first in Finland to try a new model.

The pilot period is in both the Eksoten and Kymsote area from January 19.1 to February 7.2.2021, XNUMX. In addition to the Eksoten and Kymsote municipal corporations, STM's preparedness unit, the Health and Welfare Department THL, the Regional Administration Office, HUS Diagnostics, the Border Guard of Southeast Finland and Customs have participated in the planning of the pilots.
