In the future, the next of kin will be allowed to visit the South Karelia Central Hospital and other wards.

The social and health district of South Karelia (Eksote) has relaxed its instructions regarding visits. In the future, the next of kin will be allowed to visit the South Karelia Central Hospital and other wards.

In 25.5.2020-hour housing units, visits outside are recommended, but in exceptional cases, with certain arrangements, visits to close relatives are also allowed in the units. A ban on visiting the units was imposed in March due to the corona epidemic. No new infections have been detected in the Eksoten region since May XNUMX, XNUMX, but the pandemic continues.

Hospital visits

  • Central Hospital of South Karelia and primary care wards
  • Due to the epidemic situation, visits are only for close relatives. In the wards and other facilities of Eksoten, visitors are guided by signs and receive a surgical mouth-nose protection.
  • It is hoped from Ekso that for patients who are in good health, who will soon be discharged, remote contact would be preferred. You can call the patient on his own phone or contact him on a mobile device. Video calls are allowed and recommended.
  • If possible, it is suggested to meet outside. Otherwise, the visit is done in the patient's own room. You are not allowed to move in other areas of the hospital and visiting the canteen during visits is not allowed.
  • The visitor must always keep a safe distance of two meters from other patients or visitors.

XNUMX-hour residential units

  • Outside visits are recommended in Eksoten's XNUMX-hour living units.
  • During visits, a safety distance of two meters must be observed as far as possible. If necessary, the safety distance of two meters can be relaxed if the person outdoors has a mouth and nose protection.
  • If the client has a single room in the housing unit, the visit can also be carried out in the client's room with the surgical mouth-nose protection provided by the unit. Otherwise, the visitor will be directed to the other space of the unit. A maximum of two visitors can enter the housing unit at a time. Visits must be agreed with the unit in advance.

Just arrive healthy, take care of hand hygiene and safety distance

Visitors may not come to Eksote's units when they are sick.

All visitors are required to practice good hand hygiene, and those entering the units are given a surgical mouth-nose mask during the visit. Visitors should always use hand sanitizer first and only then put the surgical mouth and nose protection on their face.

Hand sanitizer should also be used when leaving and otherwise as needed.
