The city still recommends that young schoolchildren remain in distance education

The ministry changed its policy: 1-3 graders are allowed to participate in close-to-home teaching.

From next week, all students in grades 1-3 of elementary school can also receive instruction in face-to-face education if needed. This was the line of the Ministry of Education and Culture on Friday. In the past, local education was offered only to the children of workers in critical sectors of society.

However, the city of Imatra strongly recommends that young schoolchildren continue to stay in distance education due to the risk of corona infection.

During Friday, the city will send a survey to guardians via Wilma about how many children will transfer from distance learning to face-to-face education. Guardians must inform the principal of their school in Wilma about the need for close study.
