Regarding the sports facilities, the passport policy will hopefully be clarified on Wednesday.

The Government has decided today, Tuesday 28.12. in the evening on limiting the use of the corona passport for a limited period.

The regulation will enter into force already on Thursday 30.12.2021 December 00 at XNUMX.

The decree exceptionally limits the effects of the corona pass so that from 30.12.2021 December 20.1.2022 to XNUMX January XNUMX the corona pass cannot be used at public events and customer premises as an alternative to regional restrictions.

This exception is applied in the areas of hospital districts in the spreading phase, such as in South Karelia. In the province, there is a ban on events with more than 50 people. In the future, they cannot be held even with the help of a corona passport.

Lots of open questions

It is not yet known exactly what the effects of the decision received now will be on, for example, swimming halls and sports facilities from Thursday.

─ We'll meet as soon as tomorrow to figure these things out, Director of Strategy and Administration Matias Hilden commented on the decision made in the evening.

City already had time to inform on Tuesdaythat there will be no changes to the city's services in the coming days.

It is possible that the policies will still be filed nationally as well, as the health and safety ministerial working group has decided to quickly start preparations to change the regulation on the corona pass so that it will be possible to target restriction measures on public events and customer premises more precisely in the future.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health also instructs regional administrative agencies to review restrictions on public events and customer facilities in their own areas, especially for low-risk events.
