Guidelines for sports facilities in the near future.

According to preliminary information received from the Regional Aviation Agency (AVI) over the weekend, a gathering limit of six people will be officially introduced in South Karelia starting this week, based on the spreading phase of the corona epidemic. The official AVI decision is expected on Monday.

In accordance with AVI's advance instructions, the city of Imatra already recommends following the gathering limit of six people.

─ Most of the sports clubs will be on vacation next week, but for example in association meetings it is already good to observe the maximum number of six people, head of welfare services Arja Kujala says.

Regarding the use of sports and cultural facilities, the city will make guidelines from the beginning of the week. More information is needed to support the decision, for example, what is the permitted number of people for hobby groups under the age of 12 and whether the facilities should be closed to other users completely in the week already starting. The city is connected to all sports clubs operating in its premises.

The lockdown outlined by the country's government will take effect on March 8.3.

On Monday, the city's sports facilities are still open as usual. The library will also continue to operate during the current opening hours.

─ They must comply with THL's hygiene regulations, i.e. take care of hand hygiene, wear a mask and take care of safety intervals. The mask must be used, for example, when entering and leaving the swimming hall in the lobby, Kujala reminds.
