Exote: The new face mask recommendation also applies to South Karelia

The face mask recommendation given today by the Institute of Health and Welfare THL also applies to South Karelia. Regional recommendations will be discussed in Ekso tomorrow, we will inform you more about them later.

Who should use a face mask and in what situation?
THL's recommendation applies to those hospital districts where there have been corona infections in the last two weeks. The recommendation does not apply to work communities. The Occupational Health Institute acts as an expert institution for them.

THL recommends the use of a mask for people over 15 years old, when  
⚠️ you are on public transport, where it is difficult to avoid close contact 
⚠️ you are on your way to a coronavirus test and when you are waiting for the test result and you have a necessary reason to move outside the home
⚠️ you return to Finland from a risk area and move from the point of entry, such as the airport, to quarantine, and in addition, if you have a necessary reason to move outside your home during quarantine. 

The face mask can still be used in other situations as well, if keeping safety distances is impossible. 
In addition, the regional infectious disease authorities can issue their own supplementary or more limited recommendations based on their own risk assessment.

THL's recommendation
