The vans will leave at the beginning of May and they will take relief goods with them.

Imatra's Real Estate and Area Service donates two decommissioned vans to war-torn Nizhyn. Nizhyn is a partner city of Imatra.

- The discussion about the possibility of donating cars started in the middle of last year. We were renewing our vehicle fleet, so now was the right time to hand over two vans to Nizhyn, says the CEO Markku Puuska From Imatra's Real Estate and Area Service.

Vans leave for Nizhyn in early May.

Relief goods for vans

The people of Imatra can donate various consumables to the aid package that leaves in vans.

- The aid goods to be exported are selected based on the wishes of the people of Nizhny. The hope is, for example, first aid supplies, wheelchairs and computers, he says participation coordinator Heikki Laine from the city of Imatra.

Laine emphasizes that there is no need for clothes this time.

- Aid goods also do not include homemade food or canned goods, nor dirty or broken goods.

The vans to Nizhyn are driven by a volunteer from Imatra providing aid to Ukraine Joni Salmi with partners.
