Transferring the subscription and usage agreement to a new owner
Water and wastewater contracts do not automatically transfer to the new owner when the property is transferred. In the event of a change of ownership, the water utility must be notified of the change using the form found on this page, or by submitting a copy of the deed of sale. The transfer of the contract requires the submission of a completed form by both the buyer and the seller OR the submission of the deed of sale/equivalent document.
Suomi.fi identification is used in the electronic notification. Both the seller and the buyer must fill out their own copy of the form.
If ownership changes through inheritance or division of property, you can notify the water utility of the change either by filling out the attached electronic form, or by submitting a copy of the deed of inheritance or division agreement.
Old water contracts are transferred to the new owner based on the notification. The transferee undertakes to comply with the terms of the transferred contract by the notification. The contract between the transferor and Imatran Vesi ends when the water utility has received an electronic form completed by both the buyer and the seller, or a deed of sale/equivalent document that can verify the change of ownership.
In connection with the change of ownership, Imatran Vesi checks the property's water contract status. If there are deficiencies in the height information in the contract, the property will have to be leveled, in which case the leveling team will have to enter the property.
If the information of the former contract is up to date, the contracts will be transferred directly to the new owner. If there are deficiencies in the old contracts, the contracts are renewed and sent to the new owner for signature.
