The water below Peukaloistekuja has confused nature walkers on Sunday morning. It is not a leak, but a measure related to the renovation of the water tower.

The final preparations for the renovation of the water tower are underway.

Due to the finishing works and verification inspections of the renovation of the Tuulikallio water tower, water has been drained into the ground through an overflow pipe.  Because of this, water has also flowed onto the path below Peukaloistenkuja.

─ So it's not about any state of disturbance, it's about draining the water of the government, network master Kari Mäkelä says.

The hairline crack repair of the water tower that started in September has taken longer than estimated, but now the work is nearing completion.

For the townspeople, the renovation has not caused any inconvenience in terms of water distribution, because the inner tank of the Tuulikallio water tower, which normally functions as a backup tank, has been put into use during the work.
