There are zoned plots in the natural area. Mellonlahti is a popular outdoor recreation and fishing area with a city-maintained shed with campfire sites. Mellonlahti's biological community and fish population are clearly different from Vuösi. The beaches are mostly undeveloped and protected by lush trees. Mellonmäki offers the best views of Imatra over Vuoksi and across Vuoksi to the Russian side as far as Svetogorsk. The hill is well suited for monitoring the spring and autumn migrations of birds.
In Meltola, there is a ball field where you play football and ice skating in the winter. In the winter, there is a ski track on the lighted piru track.
The history of the area is famous. The stone gate at the intersection of Vallinkoskentie and Kiviportinkatu reminds of the past. At one time, the strong columns cast from concrete supported a three-meter-high iron slatted gate that led to Londén's court on Vuoksi's shore. In addition to the Londén court, there were 2 other mansions in the area. Among them, Onnela's court had large barns and one of the best orchards in the region. On the western shores of Vuoksi, you may still find wild plants from manor gardens, e.g. rare old perennials.
