Instructions for water use
- All food and drinking water must be boiled for 5–10 minutes.
- If the water is boiled during cooking, it no longer needs to be boiled separately. Water from water and beverage dispensers connected to the water supply network should also not be used unboiled.
- It is best to use boiled water for the coffee maker. The water in the kettle must be boiled twice so that the water has time to cool in between. The water used to dilute the juice must also be boiled, and ice cubes must be made in boiled water. Rinse vegetables that are to be eaten as they are, e.g. salads, with boiled and cooled water. Ice cube machines connected to the domestic water network must not be used.
- You can boil a larger amount of water at a time and use it later after it has cooled. Unboiled water can be used for washing and laundry, as long as the water has a normal color and odor.
Washing dishes
- Dishes can be washed if the water is not cloudy or discolored. It is recommended to use the hottest washing program in the dishwasher.
- When washing dishes by hand, it is recommended to use boiled water, at least for rinsing. Washed dishes and other utensils should be allowed to dry thoroughly before use.
Ablution
- The water can be used for washing, also for washing small children's pimples.
- You can wash your face in such a way that you don't get a lot of water in your mouth and eyes.
- Scratches, wounds, etc. must be washed with boiled water and disinfected.
- It is good to use boiled water when brushing your teeth.
Cleaning and flushing the toilet
- Water can be used as normal. Boiled water is used to clean surfaces that come into contact with food.
