The City of Imatra has three school centres, each with one secondary school or comprehensive school and several elementary schools and daycare centres. According to the new curriculum, Imatra implements flexible solutions suited to different residential areas in comprehensive basic education. The city appoints a school for each pupil.
Vuoksenniska school centre provides basic education at Vuoksenniska. There are special groups availble offering supported, flexible basic education.
This school is natural science oriented.
Mansikkala's wooden school facilities are a true multi-purpose centre. The building provides alternative premises:
daycare centre with non-standard hour childcare, preschool, primary school, lower secondary school, upper secondary school, IB upper secondary school, School of Eastern Finland's upper secondary school, Virta-opisto i.e. vocational and music institute, youth premises, sports clubs, evening hobbyists and childcare centre.
This school is sports and music oriented.

Koski school centre offers basic education at Kosken koulu and Imatrankosken koulu.
There is English speaking educatioin available for classes 1-9.
The foundation-owned Finnish-Russian school of Eastern Finland, which focuses on teaching Russian language and culture and provides basic education, operates in the same building with Kosken koulu.
The new fine school building will be completed in the fall of 2021.
This school is language and international oriented.
