There were 17 reminders of the general plan proposal by the deadline
The viewing period for Imatra's new general plan ended on Friday, May 31.5. By the deadline, 17 reminders arrived from 24 people.
A large part of the reminders concern Saimaa's beach and local recreation areas.
— In the feedback, there was mainly opposition to dedicating Lammassaari and Ukonniemenpolu for construction. Some were also satisfied that Saimaa's beaches are kept as recreation areas in the proposal, the planning manager said Marja Pelo says.
The designations in the plan proposal enable residential construction in Lammassaari mainly in those areas that are already part of the built environment.
— However, the general plan itself does not determine in which areas possible residential construction will take place. More detailed planning will be done in the site plan phase, mayor Matias Hilden recalls.
There are also two addresses from the plan proposal
The impact of statements and reminders on the content of the formula is assessed and responses are prepared.
If the feedback does not show any significant need for changes, the plan proposal can proceed to the city government and further to the council for consideration during this year.
—If, based on the reminders, there is a need to make major changes to the plan proposal, the plan proposal will probably have to be made public again. In that case, the process will probably stretch into next year, states Pelo.
In addition to feedback, the city has received two addresses regarding the master plan proposal. The signatories of the second address are against dedicating Ukonniemenpolu to beach construction, and it has been signed by 71 people. In the second, there is opposition to the beach construction of Lammassaari. There are 400 signatories at that address.
