The machine disassembly of Napinkulma will start in the next few weeks
The mechanical demolition of the Napinkulma property located in Imatrankoski will begin in the next few weeks.
- The machine dismantling will be allowed to start in week 39 or 40. The schedule will be more specific, as long as the demolition work currently being carried out inside progresses a little more, developer Pasi Huoponen Mitra from Imatra Rakennuttaja Oy says.
The goal is to finish the demolition work by the end of the year.
Napinkulma, located along Helsingintie, is a challenge to demolish. The building is in the middle of other buildings and there is traffic next to it.
- We hope everyone in the area to exercise caution, Huoponen states.
The plot will be fenced off during the demolition work. Fencing is done at week 38. The fences narrow the surrounding light traffic lanes but do not prevent movement on them. Demolition work has no effect on vehicle traffic.
The hope is to have the Napinkulma plot ready for use by the summer of 2025. In what has been done to the area in the master plan benches and plantings, a petanque court and places for kiosk containers are planned for the plot. The solution is designed to be temporary and to enable experiments and changes.
The demolition of Napinkulma will be carried out by Pohjolan Purkutyö Oy. The value of the contract is 274 euros. The second cheapest offer received in the tender was chosen as the executor of the demolition contract. The lowest bid was excluded due to discretionary exclusion criteria.
The competition has been appealed to the market court.
