There is still time to pick up the reservations that have arrived and borrow reading for the rest of the year. The magazine reading room of the main library is also open during closing hours.

Imatra libraries and other Heili libraries in South Karelia are closed from Tuesday 3.12. from about two weeks due to the exchange of the library system and the online library. Libraries in Imatra will be closed on Monday, 2.12. immediately after the end of service time, and libraries do not have self-service time in the evening.

During the outage of the libraries, the lending and return services of the libraries are closed. The online library and self-service libraries are also out of use.

Imatra's libraries will reopen either on Wednesday 18.12. or Thursday 19.12.

- The opening schedule can still change, so it's worth following the library's communication channels, urges the library expert Ari Sareslahti from the city of Imatra.

The online library closes already on Monday afternoon, 2.12.

If you want to recover your own loan history and favorites, you have to go and pick them up from the current one from the heili.finna.fi online library before Monday.

- Instructions for retrieving the loan history and favorites can be found on the online library's homepage, says Sareslahti.

New online library at www.heilikirjastot.fi will be activated during the system update.

Loans do not have due dates during the closing period

Loan periods for library materials are automatically extended beyond the closing time. From the end of October, the due date of the loans has become 10.1.2025 January XNUMX.

Loans can be returned to the libraries' return doors even during closing hours.

- However, we hope that the customers would return the loans only after the libraries are closed, says Sareslahti.

Materials brought to the return hatches are recorded as returned when the new library system is in use.

The magazine reading room of the main library is open during exceptional opening hours

During closing time, the Rajapatsas and Vuoksenniska libraries are closed, except for the returning hatches.

In addition to the lending services of the main library of Imatra, the cash services of the main library are also closed, which is why the printing and copying services are out of use. Printouts can be taken at the city hall's customer service.

The main library's magazine reading room and internet machines are open as follows:

  • 3.–4.12. from 9 a.m. to 18 p.m
  • 5.12. from 9 a.m to 16 p.m.
  • 9.–13.12. from 9 a.m. to 16 p.m
  • 16.–17.12. from 9 a.m. to 16 p.m

The staff of the main library can be reached during the times mentioned above by phone on 020 617 6612 or by email pile libraryatimatra.fi (paakirjasto[at]imatra[dot]fi).

- The library staff will familiarize themselves with the new library system and the online library during the lockdown. In addition, we test the systems and try to ensure that everything works when the libraries are opened, says Sareslahti.

Changing the system does not cause changes to the customer's data; the same library cards and PIN codes will also work in the future.

The closing of the libraries does not affect the opening hours of Kulttuuritalo Virta's museums or the use of the national E-library.
