The first snow ski track is free of charge as of today.

The first cross-country skiing trails have been ridden in the Ukonniemi area. There are about nine kilometers of ski tracks.

— It's worth going carefully, however, because there is only little snow in the forests, sports venue master Jani Niittynen Imatra Real Estate and Regional Service from KIPA says.

There is no snow in the tunnels yet. The tunnels are snowed in, but you have to ski in them especially carefully.

The so-called murder hill is still closed in Ukonniemi. The area is demarcated with barrier tapes and you must not ski there.

The up-to-date situation of the tracks can be found on the website from this link.

The first snow ski track is free of charge

The opening of the natural snow ski track means that Ukonniemen first snow ski track becomes free of charge today, Wednesday.

Next weekend, 17.–18.12. Biathlon competitions are organized on Ensilumenlatu. Due to the competition, the track is closed to fitness skiers from around 8 a.m. to 16 p.m.

You can ski freely outside of the first snow ski track even during the competition.
