Summer opening hours in libraries and Virra museums

The main library's service hours end at 16 p.m. on Fridays in June, July and August. The City Museum, the Art Museum and the Corridor Gallery close at the same time. From Monday to Thursday, the opening and service hours remain unchanged.

Libraries' service hours end and museums close at 16 p.m. also on the eve of Maundy Thursday, May 25.5. and on Midsummer Eve 23.6. On Maundy Thursday and Midsummer's Eve, libraries have no service hours and museums are closed.

The libraries' self-service, i.e. self-service borrowing and returning, are available every day throughout the summer. Self-employed customers can visit the main library from 8 a.m. to 20 p.m. and local libraries from 7 a.m. to 21 p.m. After Midsummer, the local libraries in Rajapatsa and Vuoksenniska will be in use only on their own until the end of July.

- The staff visits local libraries a few times a week to process returns and reservations, but there is no actual service time in July. The reason is the staff's summer vacations, says the library expert Ari Sareslahti.
