In addition to the traditional muscari groups (for 0-6 year olds), the music college has many groups for 6-8 year olds with different emphasis. Whether you're an avid player, singer, or just a little bit of a rocker to the beat of the music, there's something for everyone. You can apply for early childhood education groups throughout the school year, no previous skills are required. Places will be allocated in order of registration as long as there is enough space. The prerequisite for starting groups is 4 students/group. More information can be obtained from the music college office or directly from the groups' teacher Tuija Muona (tel. 0400 856 474, tuija. foodedu.imatra.fi (tuija[dot]muona[at]edu[dot]imatra[dot]fi)).

Getting to know music is easy and fun at Muskari, or music play school! In the lessons, we work on many things, from playing and singing along to music to drawing and imitating robots. Teaching is interactive and progresses according to the child's developmental level.
The contents of the music groups change as the children grow.
Baby pacifier is intended for babies aged approximately 3-12 months and their parents. The most important thing in Baby Music is the joy of making and experiencing music together. The lessons are built around singing, rhymes, rhythms, movement and listening – all at a gentle pace that is suitable for the baby. Music supports the baby's development in many ways: it strengthens interaction, develops the basics of language and motor skills, and brings joy and rhythm to the baby's everyday life.
Muskari does not require any singing or playing skills from the parent – just presence and a desire to be together with the child. We learn both familiar and new children's songs, rhymes and games, which can easily be taken home and used in different situations of the day, such as diaper changes, meals or evening activities. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and babies in the same life situation.
1–2 year olds During the class, parents are still present to support and provide security for the toddlers. During the class, children move a lot to the music, which develops motor skills and at the same time they experience and learn musical things. Imaginative play, speech and singing become part of the class as the children grow.
3–4 year olds come to the muscari lesson already alone, although at the beginning their own adult can accompany the child. In a group, understanding and learning musical things takes place through play. The children's own activity and creativity are used and utilized in everything they do. Music is made and learned by singing, playing and moving.
5–6 year olds are already independent Muscarians, with whom singing and playing is a familiar activity. Musical skills are developed e.g. through rhythms and melodies in playful ways that support the child's linguistic and motor development. After Muskari, it is natural to move on to, for example, basic studies at a music college, if you have found an instrument you like.
FAMILY MUSKY
Two children under school age can come to the family party accompanied by one guardian to play music together. The group strengthens families' communication and presence with each other and, of course, enjoys being together through music. The price of the family pass is €178 per family, additional members are charged €50 per person.
TRAINING GROUPS (for around 6-8 year olds)
In the instrument coaching groups, the basic concepts of music (rhythm, melody, harmony) are introduced and knowledge of these concepts is strengthened through musical movement, playing, singing and listening.
In music coaching we comfortably combine music and elementary studies of the basics of music and explore the basic elements of music together functionally by playing, singing, moving and listening. Music coaching groups meet at school centers: Mansikkala school center on Mondays from 13.15:14 to 13.15 p.m., Koski school center on Tuesdays from 14.00:13.15 p.m. to 14.00:XNUMX p.m. and Vuoksenniska school center on Thursdays from XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. Registration using the Epos form.
Piano- and ukulele coaching groups the focus is naturally on the instrument in question and the lessons prepare you for the basic studies at the music college.
Music carousel is intended for children aged approx. 6-8 who are interested in getting to know different musical instruments. These include ukulele, kantele, piano, violin and record players. The studies are part of early childhood music education and they function as a bridge between early childhood music education and basic music studies. In the instrument carousel, you get to know a specific instrument for four weeks, after which the instrument changes. The instrument carousel is a great way to try playing as a hobby before starting basic music studies. The child learns the basics of playing different instruments and gets confirmation of his own preferences regarding different instruments.
OTHER GROUPS
Vekara band offers a channel for "future band musicians" aged around 6-8. The band uses special "Vekara instruments", as well as rhythm instruments, piano and sings. Vekara instruments are designed for the needs of small players. Also in Vekarabändi, cooperation and versatile musical development are important in addition to playing in a band. In the lessons, social skills, playing together and working in a group are practiced, as well as getting to know the basic concepts of music (rhythm, melody, harmony) and strengthening knowledge of these concepts through musical movement, playing, singing and listening.
Does your child long for a musical hobby, but is too fast-paced and doesn't feel comfortable staying still?
Speed spindles is an energetic and active music group that offers children a safe and inspiring environment to explore the world of music through exercise. The classes are full of joy, rhythm and excitement – we sing, play, rhyme, dance and move together. Each class allows you to use your whole body, and you get to know different musical instruments and musical things during the school year. Play and creativity are at the heart of it.
The group's activities support the child's comprehensive development: basic musical skills, ear for rhythm and melody, body control, coordination and concentration develop almost imperceptibly. Working together also strengthens social skills and brings joy to both the child and the parent.
With us, you don't have to sit still – here, following the teacher's clear pedagogical instructions, you can run, jump, dance, and breathe in the beneficial effects of music throughout your body!
