It is possible to take credits from some of Virta-opisto's courses, which are exported to the Oma opintopolku - service, which shows everyone's own educational history.
Credit marks are an easy way to show the skills acquired in your free time and hobbies to an employer, for example when looking for a job, and in addition, credit marks can be included as part of a degree with the approval of the educational institution.
What is a credit course?
• The credit course is a normal college course. You can participate in the course without an evaluation of the course performance.
• The course's goals and criteria, on the basis of which skills are evaluated, are clear from the credit course description.
• The extent of the course is indicated in credits. One credit is calculated to be 27 hours of student work. It can be both participation in courses and the student's independent work.
• The student decides at the start of the course whether he wants an official credit mark for the course and informs the course teacher of this the first time.
• Competence is demonstrated during the course. Demonstrating competence therefore requires that you actively participate in the course.
• The teacher evaluates the course as approved when the student has achieved the competence goals during the course. Interrupted or rejected performances are not recorded.
• Courses are marked with a dice symbol
How did I act?
• Register for the course normally
• Inform the teacher at the first course session that you want a course evaluation.
• Fill in the consent form for data export to the My study path service
• Demonstrating competence takes place as part of the course's activities, so receiving a credit mark requires active participation in the course.
• The course is evaluated with pass/fail grades. It is good to discuss the progress of the skills with the teacher during the course to ensure the course is accepted
