Playing, moving and enjoying nature

The best summer moments are spent in Imatra's parks, sports and playgrounds, nature trails and beaches.

35 playgrounds in different parts of the city

The newest playground can be found in Ukonniemi, where you can already play well, even though finishing work is still being done there this summer.
The equipment of the playgrounds varies, but swings, a bench and a trash can are part of the standard equipment. Most playgrounds also have a slide, a climbing frame and various spring swings. All playgrounds can be found in the map service link at the end of this article behind the QR code.

Imatra's numerous nature trails present the basic nature of forests, beaches and waters with their numerous species.

The nature trails have signposts and QR codes on them, from which you can use your smartphone to open the own signposting material for each trail.
In addition to the nature trails of Imatra, the Outdoor Active web service includes the multi-use trails of Karhukallio, Lammassaari, Mustalammi and Ukonniemi.

The service can be found at outdooractive.fi

To the beach to splash and enjoy the sun

Ukonlinna and Lempukka Uimaranna, located on the shores of Saimaa, are both popular shallow sandy beaches. In Immalanjärvi are the swimming beaches of Immalaliette and Rauti. There are changing booths on all beaches, and on the Ukonlinna beach there are also toilets and two beach volley courts.

In addition, Vuoksi has a beach in Varpasaari maintained by the Vuoksi fishing park.

Outdoor sports parks

The health and outdoor sports park has fitness equipment that can be used freely, and the use of which is guided by the instruction boards on site. Imatra currently has parks in the following locations:
• In the yard of the sports hall
• Linnala field
• At the Ukonniemi sports field
• At the Imatrankoski sports field
• Sludge at the beach
• Parkour park in Mikonpuisto

It's easy to combine a workout in Ukonniemi's outdoor sports park with a stair workout, a jog in Ukonniemi's terrain, or a swim at Ukonlinna's beach.

Ukonniemi's pump track is a bicycle track open to all cyclists, with a large number of asphalt and gravel covered routes and jumps. The area has been made especially for the needs of mountain bikers.

For Frisbee golf enthusiasts, there are four city-maintained courses and an 18-lane course on Mellonmäki. The city tracks are:
• Vuoksenniska, 36 fairways
• Kanava-aukio Imatrankoski field, 9 fairways
• Mikonpuisto, 9 fairways
• Ukonniemi, 22 fairways
