Participate and influence

Imatra belongs to its residents and looks like them. It is therefore worth participating in the city's decisions and services.

The right to participate is based on law. The Municipal Act reserves a wide scope for participation:

The residents and users of the municipality have the right to participate and influence the activities of the municipality. The council must ensure that diverse and influential
about the possibilities and methods of participation and influence. Participation and influence can be promoted in particular by:

1. by organizing discussion and hearing events and municipal councils
2. by seeking the opinions of residents and service users who live or stay in the municipality regularly or for a longer period of time before making a decision
3. by electing service user representatives to municipal institutions
4. by organizing opportunities to participate in municipal financial planning
5. by designing and developing services together with service users
6. by supporting the planning and preparation of matters on the initiative of residents, organizations and other communities.
