The six-part international sports drama series is an adventure based on the life story of Finland's most talented driver of all time, Jarno Saarinen, in the world of track motorcycling in the 60s and 70s.

In the series, Jarno Saarinen makes the impossible possible with his own expertise and the invaluable support of his beloved Soil and rises to the top of the sport as an amateur. At Imatra, Jarno wins the world championship, but in the end the price of success is the most valuable thing - his own life. There will be a hundred filming employees at Imatra.

In the roles of the Ride out series, domestic acquaintances as well as international stars can be seen

Jarno Saari is played by Tom Rejström and his lover Soil is played by Saana Koivisto, Tepi Länsivuore by Wilhelm Enckell. The director of the series is Simon Kauser from Sweden and it was written by Sami Keski-Vähälä.

Jarno Saarinen's best memories of his beloved Soil are securing Jarno's world championship at Imatra 50 years ago.

- In addition to the excitement of the competition situation, the atmosphere at Imatra was made special by 50 spectators, the likes of which had not been seen at any other Finnish events. And nowhere else in the world has there been such a great competition office as Imatran Valtionhotelli, Soili Karme describes.

Ride out is an international production that is filmed in Finland and elsewhere in Europe. For example, in Croatia and Italy, shooting locations corresponding to that time are being built. A third of the filming will be spent at Imatra, and the 1968 and 1972 races will be filmed.

Made with a budget of nine million euros, the series is one of YLE's biggest productions on a Finnish scale. The domestic partners of the series are Yleisradio Oy and Fireframe Oy, and one of its financiers is Business Finland. The series is produced by Funfar Oy.

Assistants are currently being sought for filming at Imatra

- There will be a hundred employees for the filming that will start at Imatra, and a lot of assistants will also be needed. Now, if there's ever a chance to watch the making of the series and thereby return to the atmosphere of the 70s, assistant producer Ville Myllyrinne says.

For filming the series, we are looking for assistants, especially people from Imatra and the surrounding area, who tend to look like the 1970s, i.e. without big tattoos, piercings or colorful hair. The search is ongoing through Helsinki Casting.

The series will be published by YLE Drama at the turn of 2023 and 2024. At this stage, the working title of the series is still Ride out.
