At work, KIPA has a story series that introduces Kipa's employees. Jääskeläinen and Hynninen, the caretakers of the green areas, are first in line.

Employees of green areas Iceman ja Hynninen talked about their work duties on a sunny Tuesday.

— Today, the whole day is spent planting the lawn. Weeds were pulled yesterday and the last summer flowers were planted last week, Jääskeläinen describes his latest work tasks.

Jääskeläinen's duties also include cleaning green areas, collecting trash and cleaning various outdoor pools.

Jääskeläinen likes outdoor work and especially enjoys sunny working days. Even the rain doesn't bother him, as long as it doesn't rain for many weeks in a row.

Hynninen's working days are spent mowing the lawn in the summer. In autumn, the work includes collecting leaves that have fallen from the trees. In the winter, Hynninen's and Jääskeläinen's tasks include snow removal on properties in areas that cannot be reached by machine.

At the moment, there is a lot of work at work because of the approaching Imatra races. In a good work team, things are handled meaningfully.

— We have nice colleagues and a good team to work with, Hynninen says.

Hynninen and Jääskeläinen are part of a work team of more than 10 people, with 5-6 seasonal workers in the summer. The tasks of green area caretakers include maintenance of parks, maintenance of traffic green areas, maintenance of playgrounds, cleaning of green areas, care of yards, green construction work, planting and caring for the city's summer flowers, and plant protection work.
