The sculptures have been created over the years in the stone symposiums of the University of Applied Sciences in Siitola manor. Now they are part of Veistosvirta.

Nine new sculptures have been erected in the area near the Town Hall and Vuoksi in recent weeks.

The works were born in the stone symposiums of the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (now LAB University of Applied Sciences), which were organized several years in the Siitola manor.

Now they are part of the long-planned Veistosvirta. The stream refers to the chain formed by the sculptures, which starts from the old railway bridge and continues along the Vuoksi river towards Imatrankoski.

—Veistosvirta's first work is Valssi at the train station, and now there are nine additional works installed near the town hall, Virra Park and Vuoksi. The Tukinuittajat piece, which was previously moved to Patopuisto, has also been thought of as part of the stream, the city gardener Erika Luhtanen says.

The installation work of the works will be completed after the snow has stopped. Then the sculptures are also illuminated and author information is added to them.
