Regarding the corona tests for school children, Imatra is still waiting for national instructions.

School sports facilities will be opened again for evening users

The provincial situation group does not see a need at this stage to ban children's and young people's hobbies.

South Karelia's regional COVID-19 situation group met today, January 11.1. and stated that even though there are a lot of disease cases in our region, there is still no need for new restrictions. Consequently, the request is not sent to the Regional Administration Office (AVI). The next time the situation will be assessed is 18.1.

─ This is a big relief for us, because now there is no need to limit children's and young people's physical activities, director of services Arja Kujala says.

The alignment means that school sports facilities can be opened from next Thursday, January 13.1. to open again for recreational use by children and young people.

These facilities, like other sports facilities, have restrictions on the number of users. A maximum of 10 people can be in one exercise room block at one time. If the exercise space cannot be divided into blocks, a maximum of 20 people are allowed in the space.

In large halls, where different groups practice in different blocks, the end of the exercises is staggered so that the groups do not meet each other.

Sports facilities were not opened for children's and youth's recreational activities after the Christmas break on Monday of this week, because it was unclear whether the recommendations of the ministerial working group or facility-specific maximum number recommendations will be implemented in the province regarding school recreational facilities.

At Virta-opisto, children's and young people's hobby activities will start in full force on January 17.1.

Group hobbies for adults during the break

Instead, group hobby activities for adults organized by the city are on hold until January 23.1. until.

The suspension of adult group hobby activities is also emphasized for clubs. The recommendations have not been followed as expected. Already a week ago, the snapshot group recommended the suspension of significant and moderate risk team sports and group hobbies for adults on January 23.1. until.

─ We hope that the clubs would take this recommendation seriously. Omikron now spreads easily, appeals Kujala.

Libraries and museums will continue to operate as before.

Schools are no longer informed about those who are sick

Due to the rapid spread of omikron and the increase in corona cases, infection tracking is burdened, and it is no longer possible to reach all corona positive people personally by phone.

Those with a positive test result will receive operating instructions by text message.

Those who are sick with corona must stay in quarantine for ten days and informs everyone he meets about the risk of corona infection.

The end of tracking means that Eksote will no longer send information to schools about, for example, a student's infection.

Vaccination day again on Sunday

Exote encourages vaccinations.

For example, the first on Sunday 16.1. from 9 a.m. to 16 p.m., you can apply for the first, second and third vaccination at Imatra's ToriGalleria without an appointment.
