The most recent policies of the Government will also affect Imatra.

The government's corona minister working group in accordance with the recommendations given late on Friday evening, various restriction measures will be introduced at Imatra next week.

School sports facilities will be closed for recreational and evening use from Monday 10.1. from This measure aims to support the health and safety of schools.

Children's swimming schools, which were supposed to start on Monday, have been cancelled. Likewise, swimming pool visits for pre-school and kindergartens have been canceled for the time being. The fate of school swimming hall lessons will be decided on Monday.

Changes to club activities?

The provincial situation group will meet on Tuesday. It is possible that next week AVI will outline even stricter space restrictions. Because of this, there may also be changes in the hobby activities of children and young people.

─ Clubs should be prepared for this, because the Government recommended on Friday that indoor restrictions be introduced in all risk categories, including recreational activities for children and young people. Of course, this is not certain yet and after Tuesday we will know more, service manager Arja Kujala says.

After Tuesday, the continuation of match and competition activities in different sports will also become clear.

Schools' practices are being clarified

In IB high school teaching, the previous corona guidelines will be implemented, according to which teachers will no longer move between cities between Imatra and Lappeenranta.

The city of Imatra has already started measures on Saturday to prepare for tighter restrictions.

The city will inform immediately when AVI or the provincial situational group gives further instructions regarding, for example, school quarantines, testing and mask recommendations.
