In Imatra, schools normally start in close proximity on Monday

In Imatra, elementary schools and high school start the spring semester next Monday, January 10.1. in classroom teaching. The lesson starts according to the lesson sequence.

─ The epidemic situation is closely monitored. If the Regional Administration Agency or the provincial situational group instructs otherwise, the education services of the city of Imatra are ready to introduce remote practices very quickly, director of services Arja Kujala says.

Health and safety instructions are followed in schools. What is new compared to December is that the strong mask recommendation now applies to all students from the third grade of elementary school to high school. Provisions have been made for the adequacy of masks.

─ The teachers also pay attention to health-safe operating methods in all activities. For example, we encourage students to go outside during breaks. The most important thing now is to create safety and a positive attitude for children and for young people, head of education Minna Rovio says.

You may not come to school if you are sick or have even mild symptoms. At that time, the student's guardian must make an absence report to their class supervisor through Wilma.

If the epidemic situation requires new measures regarding education, the city will immediately inform more about them, if necessary, even during the weekend.
