In schools, masks are recommended starting in the third grade.

The start of all supervised group exercise classes in the city of Imatra will be postponed by two weeks due to the corona epidemic. Instead of next week, they aim to start in week 4.

The city recommends club members to follow the instructions of the situation picture group, according to which it is recommended to suspend significant and moderate risk group hobbies and team sports for adults on 23.1. until. This means, for example, putting adult choral singing, contact sports, team sports and group exercise on ice for a couple of weeks.

─ Children's and young people's hobby activities can continue in the same way as before, in compliance with health and safety. The same applies to professional sports and gyms, service manager Arja Kujala says.

The Korona pass is still in use in the city's sports facilities.

With these prospects, school work will start next week in classroom teaching as normal, but a strong mask recommendation will be in effect in the future from the 3rd grade of elementary school up to the second grade.

The corona team of the city of Imatra will meet tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon. After the meeting, the city will provide more information about hobby activities.

A clear change in the situation

The provincial situational group met today, Tuesday, January 4.1. The situation has radically changed in South Karelia due to omikron, both due to the tracing and the large number of sick people. Most positive infections are found among 20-29 year olds.

It is no longer necessarily possible to reach all corona-positive people, but Eksote is currently preparing instructions on how to act if, for example, you need a daily allowance certificate or an assessment in accordance with the Infectious Diseases Act due to your health condition.
