Koronapass for use in sports facilities at Imatra.

The Regional Administrative Agency (AVI) is today, Friday 10.12. imposed new restrictions on the whole of South Karelia.

The restriction is valid from Monday 13.12. from 31.12.2021 until.

AVI outlines that operations in customer premises must be organized in such a way that the risk of customer infection can be prevented more effectively than before. This can be done by limiting the number of customers, staggering the participation of visitors and/or making arrangements related to the space. One option is to introduce a corona pass. It is asked of everyone 16- years old.

The order covers the premises of both the city and private operators.

New instruction applies to indoor spaces that are used for the simultaneous stay of more than 10 customers or participants or spatially and functionally limited outdoor spaces that are used by more than 50 people at the same time. These spaces are considered to be spaces used for sports, exercise, entertainment and recreation, such as gyms, indoor exercise facilities, public saunas, indoor playgrounds and general spaces in shopping centers.

Korona pass will be introduced in the city of Imatra in the following premises next Monday:

  • indoor sports facilities used for sports or exercise, such as school gymnasiums (evening and weekend use)
  • of the gyms, the sports hall space, (Vuoksenniska does not accept the corona pass, the number of visitors at this self-service gym is limited to max. 9 per person at a time)
  • swimming hall and sports hall
  • ice rink
  • Ukonniemi Arena
  • premises used for choral singing activities or other similar group hobby activities
  • Kulttuuritalo Virta, excluding the library and individual teaching facilities of the music college

Corona passport and identity card

Visitors to the sports hall and the swimming hall are directed to enter through one door, and corona passports are checked before the customer moves from the gates to the lower floor.

─ Outsiders are not allowed in the swimming pool stands. In addition to the Koronapass, you should be prepared to present an identity document, service manager Arja Kujala says.

At the ice rink corona passports are checked near the front door and in the Ukonniemi arena, corona passports are checked by the club organizing the practice.

Regarding the city's museums, the possible introduction of the corona pass will be announced later.

Does not apply to educational institutions

Koronapass cannot be used in premises that are essential for normal life or statutory rights. A Koronapass may not be required in, for example, pharmacies, retail stores, post offices, gas stations or libraries. Activities in these premises must be organized in such a way that the risk of infection caused by close contact can be prevented.

The decision does not concern the operation of educational institutions or early childhood education.
