Pesisstadion Live 2022 brings superstars to the Ukonniemi stadium

Next summer's Pesisstadion Live will bring top domestic artists to the Ukonniemi stadium on Saturday, August 20.

The multi-year and unprecedented Pesistadion Live will take place in the summer of 2022, in addition to the Ukonniemi baseball stadium in Imatra, but also at the Pihkala baseball stadium in Hyvinkää and the Hiukka baseball stadium in Sotkamo. Next summer's Pesisstadion Live will feature superstars Antti tuisku ja Kaija Koo and a third performer to be announced later. Ticket sales for the events have started today at Ticketmaster.

Events produced by Warner Music Live are organized in cooperation with local baseball clubs. The launch of the Pesisstadion Live concerts also coincides well with the program of next year's centenary celebrations of the world's most Finnish sport. Baseball stadiums offer great environments for organizing large concerts: they are already fenced off and in addition to the field, they also have seating stands.

- The city of Imatra has invested heavily in the Ukonniemi area, many sporting events have been seen there, and now the area is being tested for the first time in a big entertainment event. It's great to be able to organize an event together with Warner Music Live that will get the province buzzing in August, feels the director of sports at Imatra's Pallo-Veikkot Jani Valkeapää.

- We got the idea for implementation from the United States, where baseball arenas have been successfully used to organize large concerts for years.

We thought baseball stadiums would work at least as well! The idea immediately received support from both the artists who were asked to participate and the local baseball clubs. It has been great to launch a new concept in Finland in a good spirit with local baseball clubs, states the promoter of the Pesisstadion Live concerts Timo Isomäki.

In Imatra, Pesisstadion Live is scheduled for Imatra day, August 20.8. to the evening.

- The stadium concert brings a completely new addition to the city's birthday celebration. After the concert, the day of celebration will be crowned with a rapids show and free bus transportation from the Ukonniemi stadium to the city center, CEO of Imatra Base Camp Jukka Aallikko says.
