─ I can tell my own point of view very strongly. Inevitably, it's still not always the end result we end up with, Lindeman laughs.

He describes that he is comfortable in the role of the underdog and doesn't disapprove of taking on responsibility even if it's crazy.

─ I want to be strongly involved in doing things. A global perspective, i.e. internationality, is also important to me. 

What changes are in store for the city of Imatra with the new leader?

─ First you have to listen to what the moods are. I hope that people live a good life at work as well. Finding professional pride and joy in work is important. Cooperation with shop stewards is also essential for me. I intend to be a leader who brings different options to the decision-makers. 

Immediately stick to the budget

Even though Lindeman listens to feelings, he is already faced with the facts. The city's next year's budget must be completed in November.

─ My starting point for the preparation is that we will continue to live in balance. We build vitality together. We continue to refine the properties. We pay attention to big things, such as infrastructure maintenance costs. The water should also run clean in the pipes.

─ The timing of investments is also a key part. There will be big solutions right away, such as the sports hall, Napinkulma and the move to the town hall.

With pleasure

The process of selecting the mayor divided opinions in Imatra. Lindeman says that he understands those who disagreed. He emphasizes that he has not experienced negative treatment directly.

─ There are rarely unanimous leadership searches. There are one-vote solutions in many municipalities. The situation is new for everyone at Imatra, as the council is also at the beginning of its work. I'm good to start too. At Imatra, the change in management structure has been consistently prepared for a single manager model for much longer than the search for a city manager started.
