The matriculants of Imatra co-ed high school will switch to distance education tomorrow

The corona group of the city of Imatra decided at its meeting on Thursday that the students of Imatra's joint upper secondary school will be transferred to distance education from September 3.9 to September 24.9. for the time between.

The justification is to avoid possible mass exposures and quarantines caused by them. In this way, we ensure better opportunities for everyone to participate on 13.9. for the starting autumn matriculation papers.

─ It's also about getting an equal education for both students who get in-person education and students who are in quarantine. Of course, the best option would be to stay in face-to-face teaching, but the risk of mass exposure during lessons is high, comments the principal Mika Strömberg.

Currently, about high school students 80 has been quarantined due to exposure and almost all of them are high school graduates.

About 10-14 days in your own bubble

The University Examination Board and Eksote recommend that participants in the essays avoid contact for 10-14 days before the exams. In this way, the risk of being exposed to the coronavirus is as low as possible. 

The city of Imatra, together with Eksote, is trying to organize an exam opportunity for high school students who are in quarantine, but there are limited places and it is not possible for everyone to have a large exposure.

─ In addition, we hope that graduands will also limit contacts outside the family in their free time, head of welfare services Arja Kujala says.

Food delivery for distance students

The city of Imatra and Saimaa's support services organize portion distribution for distance students. You have to register for it via the attached link until Friday 3.9. by 14 p.m.

Food distribution is carried out twice a week on Mondays (2-day portions) and Wednesdays (3-day portions) between 13:15 and 8.9:XNUMX. The first delivery day is next Wednesday, September XNUMX.

The distribution of food rations takes place at the loading dock of the Mansikkala school center on the Karjaportikatu side.

If you have signed up for the dose distribution, but you want to cancel your participation during the distance learning period, do so this way.

The last dose distribution day is 22.9.
