The painting of the mural on Kukkolinnankatu in Imatra begins
Artist Hanna Kettusen The Ulpukat mural he designed will be implemented on the end wall of the old Linnala school on the Kukkolinnankatu side. The work is painted by artist Hanna Kettunen's brother Ismo Kettusen with.
- The work has started with measuring the wall and sketching, after which the actual painting will begin, LAB University of Applied Sciences lecturer Ville Huhtanen says.
- We can start painting next week at the latest, Kettunen estimates.
- The inspiration for the ulpukka-themed piece came from an interest in nature themes, which are also related to Imatra. Ulpukka is the name plant of Imatra, so it was chosen as a natural subject for the mural, Kettunen says.
Kettusen's work won the mural competition organized by the developer Mitra Imatra and the Institute of Fine Arts of the LAB University of Applied Sciences.
The estimated completion time for the work is about a month.
