Imatra's main library will become a self-service library next summer.
─ The exact date has not yet been agreed, but self-employment will be introduced when the corona restrictions are removed, the equipment has been tested and the staff trained, librarian Jesse Lindstrom says.
Installation of self-service equipment will take place next week. For this reason, the main library is closed on Thursday and Friday, April 29-30.4. The library is closed to ensure corona-safe conditions and to minimize noise damage to customers.
Rajapatsa library will be open on Thursday 29.4. from 10 a.m. to 16 p.m. You can also leave returns at the main library via the return hatch on closing days. There is no pick-up service for reservations, but reservations to be picked up will be kept beyond closing days until Tuesday, May 4.5. until.
Self-activity has been in use for a long time already in Rajapatsa and Vuoksenniska libraries. The experiences there have been good.
According to the preliminary plan, self-service devices can be used in the main library every day from 8 a.m. to 20 p.m. in the future.
─ The library would therefore be in use on weekdays at the same times as the Virtra A building side, and also on weekends. Opening hours would increase from the current 45 to 84 per week, Lindström says.
The main library is still staffed as before. Self-service time in practice only expands the library's usability.
